⚑Portugal Imigrante

About Portugal Imigrante

A tool created by an immigrant for other immigrants.

How it started

When I arrived in Portugal, as happens to anyone arriving in a new country, I needed time to work out which documents to gather, in what order and which office to go to. The information exists and is published by the official bodies — in the first months, the challenge is knowing where to start.

Portugal Imigrante was created to help with that start. It brings together in one place, in plain language, the information from the public services — AIMA, the Tax Authority, Social Security, the SNS — and always points to the official source. It is free and has no ads. The goal is for newcomers to find their way sooner and feel at home in Portugal.

How is the information kept up to date?

The information is based on the official requirements published by AIMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ePortugal portal. When the law changes, we update the checklists.

Important: This tool is for information only. Immigration law can change often. Always check the official portals before making decisions, and consider speaking to an immigration lawyer for complex cases.

Languages

The site was written in Portuguese. The main guides are also available in English; other pages, the news and most of the community are still in Portuguese. If an English page and the Portuguese version differ, the Portuguese version prevails.

Privacy

Portugal Imigrante does not collect or store any data about your immigration process. The quiz runs locally in your browser. If you create an account, we only store your name and email to identify you.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we never sell data.
